ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Melanie Thurston grew up in southeastern Pennsylvania and her attitude vacillates between Amish country whilst cooking and Philly whilst driving. She moved to South Carolina in 1995 and hasn’t looked back–mostly. By profession, she is an ECMO specialist and a cardiovascular intensive care nurse, but she started writing in 2021 when the Lord put a calling on her life.

She credits the God of all glory for her story; she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and

Savior at ten years old. It is by God’s grace alone she has a testimony to share!

What she wants people to know?

There is a God who can redeem, dry our tears, and use broken people with broken stories for His glory. Her motto is if He did it for me, then He can do it for you!

Her other two books are Confessions of Grace: My Survival Guide and I Will Praise Him.

You can contact her at me*************@be*******.net or feel free to check out her website: www.booksbymelaniethurston.com. She would love to hear from you!

ABOUT THE BOOK

This is my story of being a special needs mama. This is my story that God allowed me…it’s the hard, the raw, the ugly side of autism as seen through my eyes. I’m not holding back, covering up, or making anything pretty, because so much of special needs parenting is just…raw. Parenting in general is raw! BUT—there is so much of God’s grace; so much funny; so much beauty as well.

As with all my writing, my goal above all else is to bring praise to my Savior. May I glorify God and draw you to Him through this, even in the raw honesty. May you know, if you too are a special needs parent, that you are never truly alone.
